Ryanair has now banned employees from recharging their mobile phones at work. Apparantly they see this as stealing power from work. With these new rules they expect to save 41,90 euros on a yearly basis, which comes down to a whopping 1,5 eurocent per employee. An interesting fact: Ryanair made 226 million euros profit last year!
Of course the people who work at Ryanair aren’t happy about this. The 2600 employees already have to pay for their own uniforms, meals & education. Internet use at the office is also frowned upon. Because of the above measures Irish people don’t want to work at Ryanair (duh), and they have to ship their employees in from Poland and the Baltic states.
I just don’t get some corporations. How can they expect to get the right people working for them while treating them like shit? Stuff like this loses more money than it saves and proves that managers who think this stuff up have shit for brains. Now at least I know that if there’s ever a sequel to Office Space (highly reccomended), it’ll be set at Ryanair.
