
Looks like the iPodLinux have done what Apple couldn’t (or doesn’t want to) do. They’ve added video support to the iPod. The video player from the iPodLinux project will do 24-bit, uncompressed AVI files at iPod-native screen resolution only. You can download the binaries and the test video via the Read link. While this of course isn’t very practical seing as the iPod has such a minute screen, it is a cool hack nontheless. Getting something to do something is shouldn’t be able to. Nice one.
